This article will show you how to activate call forwarding on Avaya Communication Manager

This article will show you how to activate call forwarding on station 1234 and forward calls from that station to extension 5678. The article assumes you have access to the Avaya Communication Manager SAT interface.

Steps
Login to Communication Manager and run the command change feature-access-codes.

In your Communication Manager, we want to reference the call forwarding activation Busy/DA feature access codes. These codes will be used in the examples below.

Enabling call forwarding with console permissions

To forward all calls on station 1234 with Console Permissions, to station 5678:

From a phone off of the system with console permissions dial the FAC for CF All: #08
wait for dial tone
dial the station number that you wish to forward calls from – 1234 wait for dial tone
dial the number that you want calls to forward to – 5678 wait for confirmation tone (stutter dial tone)
make a test call from another station to extension 1234 to ensure calls route to 5678
To forward all calls on a station that doesn’t have Console Permissions:

dial the FAC for CF All: #08
wait for dial tone
dial the number that you want calls to forward “to” wait for confirmation tone (stutter dial tone)
make a test call from another station to ensure the calls are routed to the number you want to forward the calls to
Note that the station you dial the feature access code (FAC) from will be the station that has its calls forwarded.
To deactivate CF on a station with Console Permissions

dial the FAC for Deactivation: 08
wait for dial tone
dial the number of the station that was forwarded (1234 in our example) wait for dial tone
dial the number of the station that was forwarded “to” wait for confirmation tone (stutter dial tone)
make a test call from another station
To deactivate CF on a station without Console permissions:

dial the FAC for Deactivation: 08
wait for dial tone
dial the number of the station that was forwarded “to” wait for confirmation tone (stutter dial tone)
make a test call from another station to ensure that call forwarding was de-activated
