When trying to edit or remove a scheduled backup in Communication Manager, the following error occurs: Internal Data value error has occurred and you can not change or remove the backup

Cause:

If there is a space or invalid character in the backup string, then it will not be valid as a Linux expression to be inserted into the corn file causing this error to occur.

Resolution
Via the Linux SHELL/ CLI the corrupted backup has to be removed from the /etc/cron.d directory or modified using the vi <backup name> command to match the correct address without the spaces. To do both root level access privileges are required, which needs the assistance of Avaya support.

It looks like this:

[root@ccma-vfvc-0060a ~]# cd /etc/cron.d

[root@ccma-vfvc-0060a cron.d]# ls -ltr

total 12

-rw------- 1 root root 272 Mar 19 2013 mv_cronfile

-rw------- 1 root root 94 Mar 19 2013 sysstat

-rw------- 1 root root 218 Jul 12 10:55 webbackup_20160612105526.definity

[root@ccma-vfvc-0060a cron.d]# rm webbackup_20160612105526.definity

[root@ccma-vfvc-0060a cron.d]# ls -ltr

total 8

-rw------- 1 root root 272 Mar 19 2013 mv_cronfile

-rw------- 1 root root 94 Mar 19 2013 sysstat

After removing the file a new backup can be scheduled via the web-interface.

From /etc/cron.d directory remove the below corrupted backup file.

This will require root permission.

-rw------- 1 root root 184 Jan 18 09:26 webbackup_20170018092626.definity
-rw------- 1 root root 184 Jan 18 09:48 webbackup_20170018094843.definity

Once these corrupted files were removed, backup was scheduled from SMI which ran successfully.
