Description:
Steps to manage voicemail pro synchronization between primary and secondary servers in the event of a failover/fail back scenario, preserving existing and new voicemails in either scenario. You will need valid credentials and rights. There exists in production multiple ways of creating this sync, but this one is the easiest to perform and remember, and requires no restart of voicemail pro services. Please ensure you have access to the primary server web management interface, and Voicemail Pro Client installed on the client machine (at the same version as the IPO release)
Steps:
1. Login to primary server web management https://xx.xx.xx.xx:7070 or https://customer.fqdn.com:7070
2. In the Applications tab (top right), left click for dropdown and choose - Voicemail Pro - System Preferences
3. Choose the Secondary server first by clicking the for the Secondary
4. From the menu on the left, under General, choose Email, and if existing smtp sender for sync is not present "Add SMTP Sender" icon
5. Fields will be as follows:
Domain=Servers own LAN1 IP address - secondary for secondary, primary for primary
Mail Server=127.0.0.1
Port=25
Sender=vmpro@127.0.0.1
6. Make sure this new/amended smtp sender is first in the list using the up and down arrows
SMTP Receiver will remain default, or as below
7. Repeat the process for the primary server, using it's own IP for Mail Server, all other fields as above - although prompted via splash screen, a restart of vmpro services is not required using the web management process
8. Open Voicemail Pro Client - log into primary server using same credentials, Download configuration when prompted, and check sync status by clicking on Distributed Voicemails in the left hand pane. Status may show "Started, In Progress, or Up to Date"
